Post-Godhra riots case: 19 years after conviction, Gujarat HC acquits 3 for want of reliable evidence

The Gujarat High Court acquitted three men, Sachin Patel, Ashok Patel, and Ashok Gupta, overturning their 2006 conviction for involvement in the 2002 post-Godhra riots. The court cited a lack of reliable evidence and failure to prove their presence in the unlawful assembly that allegedly damaged and set fire to shops in Anand.
