Gujarat experienced heavy rainfall for a third consecutive day on Friday. Over 38,600 people were relocated to safer places, and 352 individuals were rescued. Several rivers are flowing above danger levels, causing widespread flooding in low-lying areas. The state government has deployed disaster response teams and army columns for relief efforts. The India Meteorological Department issued a red alert for some districts, with intensity expected to reduce from Monday.
Over 38,000 evacuated and 5,500 rescued as heavy rain hits Gujarat
The state government has deployed 49 teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) across Gujarat to respond to emergencies.
