- Ahmedabad customs intercepts passenger who swallowed 135g of gold to smuggle
Ahmedabad Customs’ Air Intelligence Unit apprehended a passenger arriving from Abu Dhabi for attempting to smuggle gold by swallowing it. Medical examination revealed three capsules containing 135.2 grams of 24-carat gold, valued at approximately Rs 21.89 lakh, were retrieved. The gold was seized under the Customs Act for attempted smuggling.
