Gujarat experienced heavy rainfall for a third consecutive day on Friday. Over 38,600 people were relocated to safer places, and 352 individuals were rescued. Several rivers are flowing above danger levels, causing widespread flooding in low-lying areas. The state government has deployed disaster response teams and army columns for relief efforts. The India Meteorological Department issued a red alert for some districts, with intensity expected to reduce from Monday.

Rescue teams saved 67 people from floodwaters in Gujarat’s Navsari district. An Indian Coast Guard helicopter also rescued over 30 stranded workers in Gandevi. Navsari and Valsad districts are the most severely impacted by heavy rainfall. State officials are monitoring the situation and intensifying relief efforts. Over 5,000 residents have been evacuated to safer locations.

Torrential rainfall has submerged over fifty cars in Vapi’s Gunjan area parking lot. Valsad district has recorded over 1,100 mm of rainfall in the last twenty-four hours. More than 1,200 people have been rescued from inundated residential localities across the district. Authorities have deployed disaster response teams for ongoing rescue and relief operations. Residents are urged to remain indoors and follow official advisories for safety.

Heavy rains have battered Gujarat, leaving one person dead and around 1,200 rescued as south Gujarat faces severe flooding. Valsad’s Umbergaon recorded over 1,100 mm rainfall in 16 hours, while roads, rail services and power supply were disrupted. Red alerts remain in place, with NDRF, SDRF, IAF and Coast Guard on standby. Schools and colleges will remain closed in Vadodara and Dahod on Friday.
