The Gujarat High Court has addressed a petition from 20 villagers of the Rabari community, who were booked under the SC/ST Atrocity Act for allegedly boycotting the Dalit community during a temple consecration. The court issued a notice to the state government and the Paldi village sarpanch in Banaskantha district, with further proceedings scheduled for August 5, 2025.

Gujarat’s Great Indian Bustard conservation faces setback. Rajasthan declined to share fertile eggs. This is the third refusal since 2015. Only three female bustards remain in Kutch. Their eggs are infertile without a male. A proposal to replace dummy eggs with fertile ones failed. The last male sighting was in 2018. Gujarat hoped to revive the endangered species.
