In Ahmedabad, DNA matching confirms 87 individuals from the plane crash, with 47 bodies dispatched to various districts following the tragic incident on June 12. The London-bound flight crashed into a hostel complex, resulting in 241 casualties, including former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani. Only one person survived the disaster, which also claimed the lives of local residents and students.

Air India is set to resume its Ahmedabad-Gatwick direct flight from Monday, now designated as AI 159, with the return flight AI 160. This follows the AI 171 crash, with the airline retiring the old number to provide emotional closure. The Boeing 787-8 will operate the route.
